Holy Matrimony and HolyUnion Information

The Rite of Holy Union and the Rite of Holy
Matrimony are the spiritual joining of two persons in the manner proper and
fitting by a duly authorized clergy in the Church. It is the Rite of conferring God’s blessing upon a
relationship. At New Spirit Community Church, we are
proud and honored to help couples celebrate this ceremony of joy!
Holy
Matrimony and Holy Unions are taken very seriously at New Spirit Community Church. It is a holy estate that should not be
entered into lightly, and is a sacred commitment that is honored before friends
and family and the church. Because of
the serious, religious, and personal nature of Holy Matrimony and Holy Union,
there are certain requirements that must be fulfilled before Holy Matrimony or
Holy Union will be officiated by the pastor.
First, you must both be at least 21 years of age and have been dating
each other for at least one year or living together for at least six
months. Second, after meeting the above
requirements, you must schedule three counseling sessions with the pastor. These sessions are scheduled over a three
month period. Following the completion
of your sessions and with the pastor’s recommendation, your Holy Matrimony or
Holy Union can be performed any time after the final counseling session as is
mutually agreeable.
