The Copper Madonna

The Copper Madonna Located over the main entrance on the south stone shield,
The Copper Madonna is a natural phenomenon formed by drippings from the copper bell tower several feet above.
No one has been able to pinpoint when she first appeared.
According to older members of the congregation,
The Copper Madonna has become more clear and recognizable over the years.
Though professionally cleaned in the summer of 2003, workers were unable to remove her image from the stone.
